    I'm a maverick when it comes to these skin barriers

    If Convatec ever found out that I'm an ileostomate who uses these itty-bitty barriers, they'd probably give me a stern lecture about switching to something more durable! But I have reasons, chief of which is that, at age 70, I still ride my bike for some 50 to 80 miles each week, and these wafers are absolutely the most comfortable when doing strenuous exercise that involves the pelvic region extensively. I reinforce this barrier with 3M Micropore tape whenever I remove the barrier to shower, and that application seems to make the system quite durable. Quite pleased with this product, even though I know I'm wasting money on the adhesive paper around the perimeter of the thing.
