Pleasantly Surprised
I like my pants loose at the hips, so I always get a size larger. (May have to buy size smaller later when back to pre Covid.) I fits exactly they way I wanted it. Comfortable on the waist and loose at the hips. BIG PLUS: REAL POCKETS. Able to fit phone in front pocket without it falling out when I sit. Quality of the fabric is perfect...not too thin and thick enough to be durable and soft. To LL Bean: Please put two real back pockets on the pants. Women will put their phones in the back pocket when it fits. Not all of us like to carry a purse or for me; I don't like carrying anything if I don

New go to pants!
These pants have a relatively low waistline and legs on the wide side. PERFECT fit. Most pants and most people fit in pants with more of a taper to the ankle. I find these look more like trousers and are more comfortable when sitting or squatting. Since they are 100% cotton, normally you get stretching out in the seat and knees with activity. Not these. So they will breathe due to the natural fabric and retain their shape like pants with a little Lycra. Great for Texas summer since even a little bit of Lycra makes clothes MUCH less comfortable here. A friend noticed my new pants immediately an

Classic and Simply The Best!
Im SO glad that you continue to carry the Favorite Fit in 100% cotton! These look great, dressed up for church or down with a denim jacket to run errands. I have every color offered but wish the green and expresso/chocolate were available as well. I am short waisted, so original fit doesnt look right, and the comfort fits elastic is just too much with a belt and gets hot in the summer. Please consider reprising the Bayside Twill cotton skirts as well, a cooler, dressier option for summer!

good for work
really like the cotton cloth and washability. on the downside, the length, inseam, and general fit can vary widely from one pair to the next - even when ordering 2 of the same at the same time. these pants are about the last I have found for a uniform look on a retail job with much heavy lifting and movement; also great for gardening. however, it now seems as though the zipper length has shortened and the buttons on the last 2 have pairs not stayed on after a few washings. Based on the variances, I am not altogether convinced that I would buy them otherwise. that's a real shame.

Great go-to pants for work
Very comfortable and suitable for business casual offices. I've worn these for a very long time and have always been happy with them. Easy care - just toss in the wash with cold water - and they come out well. Just wish there were some other colors. There was a dk. brown color once. I think it was was only available for one season. They should bring it back. A nice dk. grey color would be nice too (Is anyone from the company is reading this?...)

Long enough pockets
These trousers are great. The pockets are deep enough to hold my mobile phone. There is no elastic in the waist which eliminates itching from the elastic. The trousers last a little over a year being worn and washed at least once a week. It would be nice to have a bit more choice of colors. I embroidered a distinctive mark inside the trousers so that I can tell the difference between navy blue and black in the morning when I get dressed before it is light.

Quality Issues
I have bought Bayside pants for many years. In fact, the other day I found a pair that I bought perhaps 10 years ago. My first pairs were still made in the US. Later they were made in Central or South America. Then followed Israel. Last year's were made in China and this year's in Malaysia. Last year they were too short and some had fabric that attracted lint. This year the regular is almost as long as last year's medium tall. The fabric is smoother, but thinner. Somehow the fabric used to be outstanding (it was smooth and soft, lasted for a long time and the color did not fade)and the sizes w

My problem with LL Bean pants is that the waist is ALWAYS too small. The pants are always beautifully constructed and fit in every way except the waist. It is always too tight by about one inch. The problem is that if you order a bigger size the pants would be HUGE and it is only a waist issue. This is so frustrating.

adequate to the purpose
These are...okay. The material is a decent quality, but I ordered three in different colors, and the fit is noticeably different between them. One is a little loose, one is spot on, and the other is a little tight. PLEASE OFFER AN UNHEMMED OPTION, since apparently your chinos will never be available in "tall," and "medium tall" is an awkward length for some of us. It's getting really hard to find normal straight-leg pants in neutral colors, so I kept them, but I am definitely not buying any more.

Love the quality
Loved these pants but they looked huge. I didnt even try them on. Love the color, quality, fabric. Just perfect but I think I would have looked like a giant camouflage marshmallow running through the woods. Other than that, love my LL Bean purchases.

Almost Perfect !
I really like these pants because they have NO STRETCH ( YIPEE!!!) and I will wear them for all sorts of activities. I ordered the 18Petite and they fit even though they are a bit loose. I may try a size 16 petite to see if I can get a tighter fit but I fear that they will accentuate my hips and tummy too much and flare the pockets. The 18 may be loose but they look like smooth slacks with no bulges ( just like on the model). I don't find the leg to be too wide since the width help keeps the pockets from flaring but overall they are a bit loose in waist and hips. I am 5'3 and normally wear a 2

Great Pockets, but fit is a problem
I'm tempted to keep these for the pockets alone. It is so rare to find women's pants that have real pockets. And the fabric is nice too. But, even though I bought one of each version of the Bayside Pants, I could not find one that fit me. With the exception of the "Favorite Fit", the waist is too tight. And all of them are too big in the butt. They are not flattering. (I am looking for a looser fit, but I don't want to wear saggy-butt pants either) If I was still working (I had a career that was traditionally a man's, so needed to stoop/bend and move freely... and to carry truck keys/wallet/ph

Nice pants
These pants are very nice. Well made & very comfortable. I have been buying these pants for years & have never been let down. They wash and wear well & last a very long time. The only problem I had was that I ordered 2 sizes because the fitting guide on the website did not seem accurate.

Thank goodness for LLBean - LOVE THE COTTON!
I've ordered these pants in (almost) every color. I recently have developed a skin allergy where I cannot wear spandex (or similar type fabric) - which is impossible to find in women's clothing these days. Of COURSE I could count on my long-time friend LLBean for help. I love the pants, the fit is nice for both work and around the house/casual wear. The pockets are nice and deep and hold a cellphone nicely. I do wish they had a crease but that's a simple matter to fix with a hot iron & starch or a trip to the dry cleaners (at least once) but I will continue to dry clean just to avoid any shrin

Not what I wanted but OK
I was trying to re-order some pants that were size 12, clearly labeled "favorite fit" from a few years ago, that were worn out. These are kind of close, they're the same material, but NOT the same fit. The waist is higher and tighter. I can fit into them and they're OK, reasonably comfortable except for the higher, tighter waist, but you changed the "favorite fit" without any warning. If you are going to change a fit, you should change it to a different name. The whole reason I re-ordered is that I liked the fit the first time - it was my "favorite." The new "medium-tall" length is just right

Better than Comfort Fit
I have several pairs of the LLBean Bayside pants which are the traditional/original fit. This is my first pair with the Favorite fit and it sits a little lower. I purchase this size since I like the loose fit of the traditional but I find that with the Favorite fit I may have to go down a size. It is looser and I am with small children who pull on the pant legs and I am finding that the pants will slide down a few inches. If it was the traditional/original fit like my other Bayside pants, there would not be this issue. I do enjoy the material and will just wear when I am not with small childre

Overall, Good
This is the first pair of Bean pants I've ordered and been able to keep. Normally they have the same problem most pants have on me. Too tight in the waist and like balloons in the hips .I'm 5'4" and only weigh 125 lbs., so it's not like I'm overweight, but this has always been a problem for me. These pants I'm keeping. First, they come in the Stone color that is very hard to find. Next, with the help of Live Chat, I decided to order size 6. They are a little tight in the waist but not unwearable, and they fit pretty well in the hips - not balloon like. As other reviewers have said, the legs ar

Finally, real cotton chinos!
Went to two well-known department stores that I'd shopped at for years and couldn't find one pair of cotton or cotton blend chinos. Only had cheap, thin material. These pants are well worth the extra cost and made of good material that still holds shape by the end of the day. Am buying another color soon! Thanks LL Bean for offering good quality!

Stylish with pockets
The Bayside pants are true to their name and always come out wrinkle-free. They are comfortable to wear and I like the roomy pockets. Rear pockets are a little smaller than I would like, but still fits my phone comfortably. I'll be getting another pair of these...

Cut for an hourglass figure
I thought, since these were the Favorite Fit, they would be perfect work slacks. Wrong. I'm a size 14 in pants and these were way too snug in the waist and much too large in the hips and thighs. These are more for the woman with a smaller waist (hourglass figure). Sending back. On the good side, the material was substantial and I liked the color.

Nice slacks and great fabric
These pants were an exchange for a pair of a different fit. The first ones were a size smaller and had the waistband above the waistline. Everything about the pants was too small. So, I returned them in exchange for the "Favorite Fit" pants in a size larger. I like the fabric very much and they fit well mostly. I will have to take them up about two inches in the upper back/waistband and of course, I will have to shorten them a little bit. Otherwise they fit well, especially the legs. I need extra space in the legs of trousers because I have lymphedema which causes swelling in my legs.

slim leg option please!
Does what it says on the tin. Having an asymmetrical waist, I much appreciate lower-rise options. The pockets are reasonably deep, though the back one could be deeper. However, I always cringe a little when I see button closures on pants and pockets, because assuming regular wear, I know I'll be sewing the blasted things back on by the end of the season. Also, I'd really love a pair of khakis I could wear for coaching, and these are way too baggy to wear around the barn. A slim leg, low rise option with snap closures and functional pockets would be favorite.

The material and construction of these pants is very good quality. The favorite fit is what I ordered. I love the fit of the waist, seat and hips, but the pants are not what I consider straight leg. They are so baggy that each leg could accommodate two legs. Baggy pants are not flattering for a shorter person. Therefore, I shall take them to a tailor to slim the legs. The inseam is exactly 28" as it should be. Some people might not mind the fullness of the pant legs so that's why I said yes to recommendation.

I tried two sizes: my usual 12 was snug so as other reviewers suggested, I also tried a 14. The 14 fit trimly around my waist and stomach, although the legs were wide -- and my thighs are not slender. So I washed them up and wore them for four hours, with sitting, standing, and walking involved. At that point I changed clothes: these pants had not only stretched out to be even bigger, but they had deep creases across the lap. I've never washed, worn, and returned something, but this time I am, with regret. I could really use a pair of nice chinos, and these are well made. They just don't fit.

Favorite Fit Bayside Pants
I ordered 3 pair of these pants of different colors. These fit perfectly and I am very satisfied with the quality. They washed and dried well, and fit the same after being washed and dried as they did before. They did not require ironing, however, I do prefer a crease in mine so I did iron them. I didn't think the legs were big, as stated in other reviews. They fit like slacks, not skinny jeans. These are nice enough that I can wear to work in a job that requires business attire. They hold their shape all day and don't get saggy in the seat or knees like some cotton pants do. I would recommend

Great Fitting Pants
Favorite fit pants are awesome. They fit well, waist is not too low and the legs are perfect and roomy. I have these pants in every color and have never had an issue with fading. The pants are well made and last washing after washing. I had to purchase a smaller size and passed my larger favorite fit pants on as they had plenty of wear left in them. I would like to see the darker olive return as well as the tan. Also, expand the colors to include some gray hues. I hope LL Bean keeps these pants as they are for many years to come.

Overall Good
I like the pants overall, but there are a few things that I wish were better. I was trying to order a replacement for another blue pair of pants, but I don't think it's made anymore because this was the same name. This pair is tighter than the others even though they're both size 10, these are wider on the thighs than the other, the zipper is on the left instead of the right, and the belt loops are smaller. The belt loops are so small that my belts barely fit through, especially the second time. However, I didn't send them back because the length is perfect, the colors are perfect and it is go

basis of my wardrobe
I have worn Bayside khakis for years, and--obviously--I love them! In the last couple of years, I lost some weight, and the 4's are now too large for me. However, since Bean does not make these wonderful slacks in a 2, I ordered 4 pairs of size 4 and had a professional seamstress take 4 inches out of them from seat to hem. Unfortunately, there was no way to actually take fabric from the seat itself without making the waist-to-crouch too short, so they are baggy in the seat. Even so, these will remain a dependable stalwart in my wardrobe. BUT PLEASE, BEAN, OFFER THESE IN A SIZE 2!

bring back classic "curvy" style
For years Classic "curvy" size 12 regular were my "go to" pants; I loved them! They fit well, traveled great, req'd no ironing. When the royal blue color was introduced (last summer?) I ordered some in size 12 reg; I couldn't even get into them. I returned them for 14, which fits sort of, still a bit tight in the hips/very top of my legs. I had noticed that "curvy" was no longer one of the options but didn't realize that mattered, as Bean still had handy info indicating the different cuts/styles and I thought I had chosen the right one. Now I need some more black pants but I'm afraid to order

Well Made, Nice Fit
Classic Fit was just fine. I bought a navy blue pair which was a favorite fit, which was not a "favorite" fit. The only way I could use them was to extend the waist by using a piece of elastic around the button and button hole.

Just OK
I find these pants to be OK, but I wish I could find something better. I agree with other reviewers that the legs are extremely wide. I find the wide legs comfortable, but I don't really like the look. One other reviewer praised the pockets, and I have had a very different experience--- I find the pockets nearly useless. Even a folded tissue leaves a noticeable bulge in the front pockets; a cellphone or keys makes the pants look ridiculous on me. I just want to be able to wear a pair of khaki pants to work and put a few things in the pockets while looking reasonably professional. L.L.Bean, you

Good quality pants
I have 3 pair of these pants. They wash well and don't have to be ironed. The khakis I ordered February 2018 are a little different from the pair I purchased in August 2015. Same size, but the waist is a little tighter and the fabric is more like a brushed cotton which picks up lint, etc. I also purchased a white pair in February. These are a little looser fit than the khakis and have a slightly higher waist. I would like to have the option of original fit pants with straight legs, NOT tapered.
