Okay for what they are
These do there intended purpose well enough. However by design they rely on putting tension in the middle of the batt. Compressing insulation makes it lose its r value. Ive trimmed all of them a bit to reduce the bow and am now satisfied. If you do this aswell make sure you use a proper cutting tool as the metal is very hard and will certainly render a standard pair of wire cutters useless in no time, i used a mini bolt cutter. One of the review pics has a huge bow and i would not recommend installing these like that as they have tendency to swing down from that much tension. Im using these in

Ordered 3 boxes (100each supports/box at $15.68/box) & shipping was free. Used these 23.5" supports for 20" o.c. stud spacing. Cut them down to fit using side-cutters. Pretty hard/tough wire supports. But cutters made initial couple indents in supports, then bent and snapped off short end with hands. Typically added 3/8" cut length of support between face-to-face stud spacing to provide adequate compression of support. All worked well. Just wish they weren't $15+/box of 100.

So much easier than staples
The solution isn't perfect but as others of remarked all it one-handed, and you don't need staples. Plus the wire stock is amazing and good for other crafts. In some locations you may need more than one piece, but that's fine with me. I'm buying a second pack today for another job, where wider insulation was salvaged and cut to 15 in. It couldn't have been stapled anyway.

These wire insulation supports work great for stuffing insulation up into rafters. They are the perfect length for 141/2 inch spacing in rafters. Simply grab the middel of the wire and push it straight up between rafters to keep insulation supported. Quick and effective.

Very easy to use - take one out of the box and press fit into the stud. Very simple process, and the slightly angled edges made it easy to tension fit them. Bonus points: the box is pleasantly sturdy, I dragged it around with me as I was moving across the space I was installing the insulation, and it held up super well. This made it easy to grab a support, install it, and grab another - I always appreciate practical packaging!

Simple and easy to use with insulation installed in floor joints. The chiseled points on both ends grab the wood well and keep everything in place. I wouldnt assume insulation will stay put over the years without them.

Very useful!
Insulating the ceiling for a spare room in the basement. These 16 in. insulation supports were just the trick! In the past I have used plastic and even fishing line and staples and this was by far easier and very fast. I would recommend having someone nearby ready to hand you one of these at a time as sometimes you need one or both hands to keep the insulation from falling back down on you until you get the support in place. As I went along I found it easier to poke one side in and the bow the wire up and slide the other end up until it went into place. Very glad that these are available. Note

This is, by my estimation a very nice product, a good value (since it saves a great deal of time), and something that I wish I had years ago. No more struggling with overhead insulation, try to hold it into place to be stapled. Just push the insulation into place, and pop a steel tie into position. They are strong, and they hold very well. One additional advantage I can think of, is that if future modifications are necessary (such as adding additional wiring or cutting holes in the walls for windows or doors, the ties make removal of any insulation lengths very simple and easy, since they can

This is about as simple as it gets. Push it up between the floor joists and it holds the insulation. If the floor joist spacing isn't standard you'll need to get creative. Like cutting some of it off. Still pretty simple. Don't push them up too far or they'll compress the insulation too much. That decreases the R value, which is the effectiveness of the insulation. Take your time, use your head, and the nasty job will get done quicker.

I'm sure they're fine. I had an old box of these from 25 years ago and used them up on a job of pushing up old insulation that had sagged over the years. The paper backing on the insulation was so dried that stapling was not possible. I'd have had to replace much insulation, but was able to reposition it with these wire insulation supports. These replacements look much the same, so I'm well satisfied with them.

Purchased an electric stapler and staples to insulate the ceiling of our crawl space. Bought these just to see what they would do. Finished the job in 1 1/2 hours...using the insulation support for most of the job. Saved so much time and ended up returning most of the staples...$12 for 100 sticks. Great value. Would recommend and use again!!

Great product as long as you are using standard framing. If you are using I Beam LVL 16" OC you have 15 1/2 inches between joists so they don't stick. I was able to rest them on the bottom chord of the joist but a few fell down. Will watch and see how they move and may have to find another solution.

Works good ONLY on joists that are standard 2 x material. Most of my joists are OSB type with runners at top and bottom only, made of laminate engineered wood. The supports are too short, by nearly an inch, to work in between the OSB joists. In another part of the house the joists are standard 2 x 12's and the supports work fine there.

The best product ever!
After reading the reviews of these support ties, I realized that I could fix the existing and add insulation under the house. (it can get expensive to have a professional do the job) The supports were very easy to use and I could do it with one hand. I know I probably used more than I needed. I just never wanted to go under the house in such a small crawl space again. These support ties are a must have when putting up insulation! BTW I'm female and hate bugs

length is designed for standard solid wood (2x6, 2x8, etc) at 1-1/2 in thick. But if you are using manufactured "I" beams, the length needs to be about one inch longer in order for the "Spring" effect to hold the wire in place. If you are using solid wood, they'll work great
