I'm unsure when this product started. I just ran into it about three weeks ago and gave it a try. I wished I had this magical thing five years ago. You plug it into any USB port on your PC. I'm using it on two systems, my PC and my MacBook Pro. I use it on my MacBook's Parallel installed Windows 8.1 share. Both of my machines are high-end performance. It works flawlessly on both. I will not be inclined to use it on Mac OS by itself. The handheld wand is perfect. I found the mouse control buttons awkward, however. They are absolutely not necessary to enjoy this product. So far I would say this is a life changer in saving me time. I had the headset and it was nice but picked up a lot of background noise. Anytime a staff member would talk behind me or one of the kids at home it would pick up other words or not at all. At first it started to dictate slow, but I googled the user guide (because it doesn't come with a guide...which is fine) and it was very simple to switch a few buttons through options that changed that and kept the accuracy. I find it 98% accurate, and words it doesn't know you simply add & teach the vocabulary and works perfect thereafter. Progra
